The Assistant Grant Writer collaborates with the current Grant Writer, Administration, and
Department directors to identify appropriate contract/grant opportunities. The Assistant
Grant Writer will utilize the Tribe's grant policies, protocol, and procedures to develop
successful applications on behalf of the Tribe. Establishes and maintains effective
working relationships with staff, departments, community, and representatives of federal,
state, local, and other agencies to address relevant issues. Identifies and scopes
appropriate grant opportunities. Support and train staff in understanding the grant
process, procedures, requirements, and project activities.
This candidate should be a collaborator willing to perform any task/responsibility
required and should be dependable, detail-oriented, and organized.
Responsibilities:
Works with staff in developing and transforming ideas into a grant proposal
Developing ideas into grant proposals
Conduct research for potential funding sources, maintain databases, and work in
collaboration with staff in the development of grant applications
Participates in meetings in which decisions affecting grant program applications
and follow-through are made
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
3 years of previous experience managing and implementing federal grants.
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
